Sarah Showich (they/she) is a metro-Detroit born and Los Angeles based Director for the stage and screen. Sarah has a passion for developing new work that explores universal, intimate relationships that leave audiences questioning their greater society.

Upcoming: Assistant Directing/Dramaturgy for three one act plays for Trans Lineage: Rights of Passage with Celebration Theatre opening December 2025 and Associate Directing the World Premiere of Sylvia Sylvia Sylvia with Geffen Playhouse opening February 2026.

Previous directing stage credits include: Dr. Mr. Science Boy (The Blank Theatre), Memory Lane is a Desert Road (Eight Ball Theatre), Buck v. Bell* (Eight Ball Theatre) and Fun Home (Musical Theatre Repertory). They have also recently assisted on Tales of the Transcestors: The Divine (Celebration Theatre), Meet Me Here (The Blank Theatre), Divine Hotline (The Blank Theatre), and Under Gods* (Rally Cat Theater). They are an alumni of Center Theatre Group’s Directing Observership program, for American Idiot with Deaf West Theatre.

Her sophomore short film, In the Dark, wrapped production on 16mm earlier this spring. Their debut, Me and You premiered at Austin Micro Film Festival and won Best Relationship Drama.

Sarah is an alumni of the University of Southern California’s School of Dramatic Arts & School of Cinematic Arts.

When they aren’t directing, they also can be found reading and developing scripts as Eight Ball Theatre’s Literary Manager, or taking on producing projects.

In her freetime, she loves to go on a hike with friends, play board games or attempt to keep up with AMC stubs A-List passes.
